I created the above text using www.jigzone.com, which is a simple yet effective website used
to create puzzles of your choice. My example shows a picture taken from the
popular children’s story ‘Dogger’ and is an activity that can be used as a
Literacy extension task if children finish their work, allowing children to
guess what book the picture is from.
A second text I researched was http://www.bbc.co.uk/schools/magickey/adventures/patch.shtml, I found
this particularly useful for KS1 Literacy when learning about sentence
structure. The game requires pupils to put the words in the correct order to
create a picture, followed by a related worksheet and there are also teacher
resources to support the teaching of the topic.
An implication for my future practice is to ensure I have
a collection of digital resources that I can use to support my teaching of a
variety of topics, ensuring that the learning is interactive and engaging.
