Week 2- (Task 2) - Examples of the texts I discovered in session

Website Example 1:

I created this  using ‘Tegxedo’ which I found very easy to navigate. My example shown above was created about music and could be used as part of a curriculum display. This could be useful when brainstorming ideas or for posters within the classroom. In English, this could be used to write all the words the child/class can think of which would describe a character or scene in a story. Therefore, you would end up with a electronic representation of the child's' perceptions.

Website Example 2:
This was made using JigZone, which was again easy to navigate. You have to sign up to upload your own photo but it is free to do so. I decided this could be a really creative and useful tool within English sessions as you could use a picture of a paragraph or sentence and allow the children to fit the puzzle pieces together to solve these problems. Consequently, children could need to use their knowledge of sentence features like how capital letters would appear in the top left hand corner as it would signify the start of the sentence(etc.).  I have done so here using an image of the front cover from the famous Roal Dhal story ‘James and the Giant Peach’. The text shown here is a quote from within the story.

  1. I really like the tagxedo image you created and the idea of using it in displays. Something to perhaps consider would be children with additional needs; if they would be able to understand the words within the picture? I never considered the idea of using text within the jigsaw, something I will definitely try myself!
